This site (amitmondal.in) is run by me, Amit Mondal. I'm the one responsible for anything to do with your data here, so if you ever have a question or a request, just email me at contact@amitmondal.in.
WHAT WE COLLECT
POSTHOG
If you accept cookies, PostHog (the analytics tool I use) picks up pageviews, clicks, and other basic interactions. It also notes your rough location from your IP address, your device and browser, and records a replay of your session (mouse movement, clicks, scrolling) so I can see what's working well and what isn't on this webpage.
None of this is linked to your name or email. PostHog only knows you by a random ID stored in your own browser. Curious what that means for deleting your data? Jump to Your Rights below.

The PostHog row only kicks in once you've hit Accept All. Until then, that script isn't even loaded.
WHY WE'RE ALLOWED TO DO THIS
Analytics and session recording only run with your consent (that's GDPR Art. 6(1)(a), for anyone curious about the legal side). It's not just a promise either. PostHog genuinely isn't loaded or contacted until you click Accept. Reject the banner, or just ignore it, and nothing gets sent.
WHO ELSE SEES THIS DATA
POSTHOG
Handles the analytics and session recordings described above, and only once you've said yes. You can check PostHog's own privacy policy for how they store and handle that data.
RESEND
If you send a message through the contact form, your name, email, and message go through Resend so it can reach my inbox. That's a bit different from the analytics above. It happens because you chose to reach out, not because of the cookie banner, so rejecting cookies won't stop your message from getting to me.
HOW LONG WE KEEP IT
PostHog keeps data for as long as its own policy says, and that can change, so check PostHog's privacy page if you want the current figures rather than trusting a specific number here. Messages sent through the contact form are kept only as long as I need them to get back to you. In practice, most analytics data quietly expires on its own well before anyone needs to ask for it to be deleted. More on that in Your Rights below.
YOUR RIGHTS
You can ask to see, correct, or delete your personal data, and you can always complain to your local data protection authority if something about this doesn't sit right with you. What that looks like in practice depends on which data we're talking about.
CONTACT-FORM DATA
If you've used the contact form, I have your name, email, and message sitting in my inbox. Email me at contact@amitmondal.in and I'll delete it, no questions asked.
ANALYTICS DATA
PostHog data isn't linked to your name or email, just a random ID stored in your browser. That means I can't search for "you" specifically, but here's what's still on the table:
- Stop it any time. Hit Cookie Settings below (or in the footer) and reject. No need to ask me, it's entirely up to you.
- Let it expire. Anything already collected fades away on its own within about a year, whether you ask or not.
- Want something specific deleted sooner? Send me a rough idea of when you visited and what device or browser you used, or your PostHog distinct ID if you can find it in your browser's dev tools. Without something to go on, there's genuinely nothing for me to search for, since it was never tied to you in the first place (this is normal under GDPR Art. 11: I'm not expected to go collect identifying details just to service a request about data that was never identifying).
WHERE YOUR DATA GOES
PostHog may process data on servers outside your country. They rely on their own standard safeguards for that, the usual legal mechanisms companies use in this situation. If you want the specifics, PostHog's data processing agreement has the details.
